Cuban shooter Pupo to compete in Germany World Cup

 Cuban shooter Leuris Pupo, champion of the 25-meter rapid fire pistol competition at the 2012 London Olympic Games, will compete in this year's World Cup final of the sport, to be held Nov. 8 in Munich, Germany, sports news website Jit reported Friday.

Pupo, who won the bronze medal at the same competition in 2008, will be going up against 18 other competitors.

The Cuban athlete has competed in three of this season's competitions, ranking in 11th place, with 578 points in preliminaries, at Fort Benning, Georgia (USA); in 12th place at another Munich competition (578 points), and again in 12th place ( 580 points) at a meet in Granada, Spain.

The list of competitors at the upcoming German cup includes the world champion from the 2012 Bangkok competition, the Czech Martin Sornad; Germany's own Martin Reitz, in first place, according to the results of the annual circuit; and the Chinese Li Yuehong and Zhang Fusheng, among others.
